DENVER - June 6, 2011–High Sierra Water Services, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of High Sierra Energy, LP, announced today that it has acquired the assets of Marcum Midstream 1995-2 Business Trust and Marcum Midstream 1995-EC Holdings, LLC (collectively “Marcum”). Marcum has most recently operated as Conquest Water Services, LLC (“Conquest”). Founded in 1993, Conquest is the largest oil and gas water disposal company in Colorado, operating exclusively within the prolific Denver-Julesberg Basin in northeast Colorado. With drilling permits on the rise in the Basin and an increasing number of oil and gas rigs drilling for oil in the Niobrara Shale, water disposal demands are escalating in Weld County, Conquest’s primary operating area. High Sierra expects to complement Conquest’s existing operations and grow the business to serve the needs of its existing and prospective producer customers.

High Sierra Water Services partners with leading oil and gas exploration and production companies to provide effective treatment and recycling of flow-back and produced water obtained in the drilling and production process,” said James Burke, High Sierra Energy Chief Executive Officer. “Our acquisition of Conquest will enable us to serve the growing number of producers in the Niobrara Shale play as well as the entire region, and provide a reliable source of treated, recycled water for customers through our innovative, proprietary water treatment technology.”

With a focus on long-term, sustainable resource protection, High Sierra Water Services’ state-of-the-art water treatment technology recycles oilfield water to surpass regulatory standards and, in some instances, discharges treated water back into local water supplies. With four patents issued and three patents-pending, the purification technology engineered by High Sierra Water Services has revolutionized water treatment in the oil industry.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

High Sierra Water Services to Exhibit at Rocky Mountain Energy Epicenter, July 7–10, 2010

The Conference Will Host Over 3,000 Key Leaders in the Oil and Gas Industry

DENVER – High Sierra Water Services, a leading flowback and produced water treatment specialist, announced today that it has filed a patent for an on-site, portable water treatment technology designed to treat produced water and focus on the removal of scale-forming compounds. This patent is based on the process of chemical precipitation and offers a flexible approach that allows various precipitating reagents to be used, depending upon location and economic factors.

For oil and gas operators, this process provides the following benefits:

Flexibility in the volume of water treated: The process can be setup to treat as much as 20,000 barrels of water per day or as little as 2,000 barrels of water per day.

Adaptability to fixed facilities: The technology is designed to be used in a portable setting, but is adaptable for use in a fixed, central facility as well.

Ease of chemical transportation: The process allows operators to select treatment chemistry based on ease of material handling at the drilling site.

Supports using a “green” water recycling approach: The process offers an environmentally friendly option to treat produced water for recycling use, which reduces vehicle traffic because water does not need to be transferred to another location for disposal purposes.

“This is another example of how High Sierra Water Services adopts the best available technology into its patented processes and offers industry-leading options for water treatment,” said Mark Marcin, Senior Project Development Engineer of High Sierra Water Services. “Because we are not tied to one single approach or technology, we have the flexibility to develop solutions like this that address the real-world challenges and economics that our oil and gas industry partners face.”

High Sierra Water Services
High Sierra Water Services partners with leading oil and gas companies to provide treatment for recycling or surface discharge of produced and flowback water.
DENVER – High Sierra Water Services, a leading flowback and produced water treatment specialist, announced today that its flagship Anticline facility has surpassed 22 million barrels (924 million gallons) of water treated. The facility, which is located on the Pinedale Anticline in Wyoming, provides water treatment services for oil/gas companies located in the surrounding area.

The Anticline facility is capable of processing up to 60,000 barrels per day (2.5 million gallons) for frac recycle and up to 20,000 barrels per day (840,000 gallons) for discharge. Currently, frac and produced water is being treated to a better-than-drinking-water standard and approximately 1.5 million barrels (63 million gallons) have been discharged into the New Fork River, part of the Colorado River system.

High Sierra Water Services utilizes a “technology neutral” philosophy designed to integrate the best available technologies into its patented water treatment processes. This allows the company to not be tied to one single manufacturer’s equipment or process and enables a flexible approach to create customized options for its oil and gas partners.

“Our Anticline facility continues to be at the forefront of water treatment technology and demonstrates our proven ability to address the challenges faced by the oil and gas industry,” said Jim Winter, President of High Sierra Water Services. “Not only have we been able to process massive amounts of water, but we have done it in a manner that meets and exceeds regulatory requirements. Twenty-two million barrels is an industry leading benchmark that was achieved by developing the best solution for everyone involved.”
